Mrs. Annie Yip, 1998.

Born Annie Chow , Mrs. Yip was born in Michel, BC in 1921 of immigrant parents who had travelled from China during the First World War. Due to hard economic times she accompanied her family to live in many different parts of the Kootenays; wherever her father could find work. Married through a traditional arranged marriage, the Yips settled permanently in Fernie, BC where they ran a successful restaurant.
