Around the 12-acre site, you will also find structures that are NOT restored, but have stood fast against the elements for a century or more. These buildings remain as wonderful tributes to the original town, and by contrast to the restored buildings, serve as tangible examples of the value and effect of preservation work done at Fort Steele since 1961.
