Project: Replacement of Roof for Visitor Reception Centre Building at Fort Steele Heritage Town

 

Background: Fort Steele Heritage Town is proceeding with restoration of the Visitor Reception Centre (VRC) building following a structural fire in April of 2023. Emergency restoration work for the building is anticipated to be completed by the middle of November.  The next phase of the restoration will be to replace the current building roof.  The building currently is roofed with cedar shingles with fire damage to the limited to the exterior (shingles, underlayment / sheathing).  Fort Steele wishes to replace the current cedar shingle roof with a metal clad roof - estimated size: 418 sq.m. (4500 sq.ft.).
 

Quote Requirements:
Quotes must clearly detail the following items.
1) Removal and disposal of existing roof:
Labour (hours and hourly rate):

Expenses (including dumpster costs, etc.):

other related costs:

2) Supply and install new metal clad roof including: (3’foot wide metal roofing, underlayment, and any damaged plywood sheathing needed to be replaced, if any, and facia)

 

Materials cost:

Quotes must also include date available to start the project and estimated completion date:

In submitting a quote, bidders are responsible to familiarize themselves with the building and confirm the requirements for the project including the size of the roof and the challenges associated with the building.

 

The company awarded the project is responsible for acquiring all required permits for the project and must provide proof of commercial general liability insurance and is in good standing with Worksafe BC prior to commencement of the project.
